More Snails Blocks Completed
I completed three more snails yesterday. These finish at 9" tall by 15" long.
The shells are made from orphan blocks (top two) that I bought in a scrap bag from one of the local quilt store. The shell for the third one was made from orphan block sections that were bought in the same scrap bag. All other fabrics were from my scraps.
Gratitudes:
1. Having a customer that likes my work so much that she's planning on recommending me to all who need custom work like I've been doing for her (the stockings, etc)
2. Having realized that I've saved enough from last years sewing to be able to pay off another bill with it. And what is already on the books for this yr will take care of a second one once I'm done!
Your snails are looking fabulous!! Not having bills is such a blessing!! I'm so glad you are able to get some of those behind you! I am a Dave Ramsey fan and have been blessed to have always handled my spending and debt (none) the way he recommends.
ReplyDeleteI love your snails. Bright colorful and fun. What a great way to use orphan blocks.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to pay off a bill! Congratulations on your lovely snail blocks! Can't wait to see what they are going to add up to.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the snail head fabric on that last one particularly. Their shells are great from the orphan blocks.
ReplyDeleteI'm adoring the snail blocks. I'm determined that I'm going to get debt free again. I took on the attorney bill for my son to get his son in a custody battle. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. The bio mom was doing meth. A friend of the mom who didn't even know my son found him on Facebook through a mutual friend. He had no idea who was trying to friend him, so he ignored the gal. Then he got a call from someone he didn't know. He thought that was strange for all that to be happening close together. The gal had gone to people until she found someone who knew someone who would give her his phone number. The mom lived in the Oklahoma City area and he lived in the Tulsa area. So, it wasn't necessarily an easy task. He called back the number and she told him that she was afraid that his son was not safe. Now he has total custody of his son. His son talks to his mom every night (he is 13) and she has not excercised her right for supervised visitation in over 3 months. He is thriving in school now and he was in danger of repeating last year in February when my son got him and he got up to A's and B's. It's still a fight about learning responsibility since he has never had any. So, I felt that I could not sit idle and not pay the attorney bill when my son absolutely could not afford it. In doing so, I also ran up a few other bills that I would have not had, if I had not been also paying some of the fees along. I'll get them paid off hopefully this year. I'm not worried about them. I'm glad to have my grandson safe and hopefully he soon learn to be happier where he is. He still believes everything his mother tells him. He is usually pretty happy when he comes here. If he isn't, it's because he is in trouble for something he has done or not done. He and I have always had a special bond. I'm proud that you are getting your bills paid one by one. I know that is a good feeling. I love your gratitudes.
