Work on the House

15 months ago when my Dad passed away I inherited the house he and my mom (who passed away in 2021) had lived in since 1978 when we moved out here from Southern California.   In the years since then not a lot had been done to the house...........and before I can move in

Kitchen cabinets have been installed.   Waiting now on the countertops to be measured and final electrical work in here.   Appliances have been selected, but final measurements are still needed to make sure they will fit correctly.
Bathroom cabinets have been installed.  And although not shown here, they've also been pained.   Shown here is the master bath.
And the hall bath.
Shelves are up in the pantry and the room has been pained.
Laundry side of the pantry.
And perhaps the biggest thing I've done on this project (well other than continuing to go thru stuff and clean things out) is getting all of the remaining mirrored tiles off of this wall in the master bedroom.
Ceiling and the end wall have been texturized, room has been painted (well the walls.........baseboards still need to be painted or replaced).

So thankful for the progress that gives me hope I'll be able to move into the house before the end of the year.

Gratitudes:
1. For the progress made in the last couple of weeks on the house.

2. For the temps starting to cool down here in AZ

ScrapHappy - September 2024

This month has been one of those month when not much has gotten done thanks to the continued healing of my eye after the retina surgeries back in August and July.   This has definitely been a slower process than I'd expected, and it's still going on.

During the month I did see a picture of a quilt that I liked and  it will work great to use some of the remaining 6.5" squares from the inherited stash.  And with that decision I've managed to make some of the needed HST's for the blocks and trim the scrap squares needed to 5.5" instead of 6.5 they are currently cut at.    Had to recut the HST's because I managed to cut them at 5.75" instead of 5.5"......sigh gotta love having lousy depth perception currently.

From the bits and pieces made so far I've managed to make one block.   Finished size of the block is 20" by 10".   From my figures I'll need 9 more for a lap quilt.    Hopefully I'll have all of them make and together by next month.

Don't forget to check out what everyone else has done this month.
