ScrapHappy - June 2023

This past month has been a stressful month to say the least.  My father passed away unexpectedly the middle of May and life has been topsy-turvy since as I've handled what needed to be done.

With all the craziness there were times when I needed something mindless, thank goodness for having block sections already cut and ready to piece.   First up were these prairie point blocks.   These with the ones I already had made now give me 63 which is enough to make a lap quilt.

Next up was using up a several remnants and scraps to make this quilt top.   It will eventually be donated.

Then came these anvil blocks.   Made from pieces that had been cut some years ago by my best quilt buddy.  She remembers she and I were going to make matching quilts.   Haven't a clue where mine went.   More blocks yet to be made with the rest of what she sent.

And finally two remnants were cut to start a picnic themed project for a July blog hop.

Check out what everyone else has done this past month.

Gratitudes:

1. For my dad being able to live at home, on his own (albeit w/help), till his passing.

2. For easy projects that I don't have to think (well much at any rate) to work on.

I am so very sorry for your loss. The passing of a parent is always very hard to come to terms with, and I wish you consolation and peace.
On a more trivial note, I'm loving the prairie points blocks I see you and Susan making, such a lovely idea, which I may steal at some point!

It's so nice to see so many things progressing. Sewing is definitely a way to deal with grief and with stress. Love all the blocks, but prairie points might be favorites. =)

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sewing and cleaning keeps you busy while you grieve, for sure. xo
