Abraham Lincoln

The following quote has been floating around cyberspace lately and attributed to Abraham Lincoln. While I can't find confirmation that he actually did say this, I still think this is worth thinking about in light of the current political and economic situation here in the U.S..

*************
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

***********************
Gratitudes:
1. For a God who provides all I need to live no matter what is going on around me.
2. For the time that I have to get everything sorted through, weeded out, packed and ready for either storage or moving before the end of July.

O that politicians, judges, peacekeepers, officials, and everyone else in authority these days were required to memorize and live by those words! Plus all the things the Lord says about such matters in His Word, too! Can you imagine what

Moira, I have a primitive sign in my living room, quoted to be by Abraham Lincoln, that says "Life Is What You Make It, Always Has Been, Always Will Be" A great quote if I say so myself.
