Time keeps marching on towards the end of the year.   Truly does seem to go faster the older I get.   Lots going on outside of the commissioned work to keep the stress level up, but working on the to-do list helps keep it somewhat down.

1. 3 large lap quilts (2 commissions and 1 UFO) - basted and ready for finishing

Finishes - 2/23/19

My plans for last week got thrown for a loop when my body decided it wanted to get sick and actually force me to slow down.  =(   After spending the morning Saturday between urgent care and then Walmart waiting my prescriptions to be filled, and then crashing nothing much got done until Saturday.

First up was sewing this teddy bear.  He'll be off to a little one who is a new big brother as of Friday when I deliver dinner to a family at church this week.  Big Bro keeps eyeing the bunny I made Lil Sis, so he needs his own critter.

Got the blocks cut and/or sewn for the next commissioned quilt.  The pieced blocks still need to be trimmed to 9.5" unfinished, but that is for this week.

And I got backgrounds fused for the first set of Easter postcards.  To come are Easter eggs, baskets, and who knows what else.  =) 

I also managed to make it by the post office so the two commissions from last week and a set of swap blocks were put in the mail on Thursday when I ran out for early voting.

Gratitudes:
1. For an urgent care office in the next town (none in the town where I live) that is never busy....

2. For friends who bring meals over when I'm not feeling good.

Last week was a whirlwind as I worked to get things finished up and then me on the road.

2. Complete commissioned set of 4 postcards. - Done and delivered!
3. Finish Christmas stocking for Customer - Finished and delivered
4. Make Bears #2 and #3 for IG customer, need to ship out on Saturday 12/7 - Finished, but IG customer decided to not respond to multiple msgs, so he's been blocked and these will be sold elsewhere.
5. Start quilting on the Commissioned Basketball quilt - Quilting has been completed
6. Donate garbage bag of fabric, and two boxes of misc stuff as well  - Done!

Goals thru the end of December -

1. Sew the binding down and label on the Commissioned Basketball quilt
2. Ship BB quilt out before end of month
3. Start sewing more stuffed animal shells = teddy bears
4. Make test stuffed animal(s) from new pattern

2. Wedding Dress Pillow (no due date) - Finished!!!!
3. Ring Bearer Pillows (no due date) - Cutting fabric for 1st pillow in process
4. Blouse (4) and Jeans Alterations - Finished and Delivered!
5. Memory Teddy Bears from button-down shirts (12 of them) - 2 of 12 bears are done
6. Alterations - 7 pairs of pants (hems and waist band) - Clothes are on hand
7. Alteration - Blouse to take up - Blouse is on hand

Weekend Progress

Had a busy but fruitful weekend as I worked on a multitude of projects this past weekend.

First up was finishing up some commissioned alterations - repaired a t-shirt, hemmed a pair of jeans and shortened a pair of curtain panels.  And then delivered them back to my friends at church on Sunday.

Next up was sewing the first memory bear together.   It's now ready for stuffing.

Then I finished up the tote bag sample.  This is the back, with two lined pockets.

 Front of bag with a button / loop closure if the user wants to close the top of the tote.
















Inside of the tote - Lined in a zebra print cotton, and another two pockets inside to match the ones on the outside. 


Specs of the tote:

Focus print - Zebra print outdoor fabric by Waverly
Lining - Zebra stripe cotton print
Handles - Cotton belting
Pockets - Black Kona cotton
Pellon interfacing (the 99 cent stuff) was used to give a little more body to the lining fabric

And I got all of the t-shirts and sashing cut for the commissioned quilt.   There are three sizes of blocks - 15" square, 8" tall by 15" wide, and 8" square.  The 8" will be sewn together in 4 patches to make a 15" square.   Sewing these together will start this coming week.
