First choice I need to make is what fabric to use as binding for my quilted London tea towel quilt.I have two choices if I don't add an additional fabric to the quilt - I can use the leftover cream tonals shown at the bottom. This would lead to a binding that will blend with the final border and background of the quilt.
Or I can use the tan print shown at the upper left. This would place a "stop" at the edge of the quilt. this fabric was used in some of the blocks in the quilt.
I can't decide which I like better.......any ideas or opinions?

1. Headache tonite isn't as bad as over the weekend.
2. I've got a follow up appt for thursday with my hematologist. Hoping for good news!

I *think* I like the darker binding next to the light outer border. On the bottom one, I definitely like the warmer tone of the middle fabric. But I'm not seeing them in person, or in equal amounts.
I would make a scrappy binding using all the scraps from the project...sometimes just having the quilt flow all the way to the edge is perfect. On the second one, I also like the silvery gray. White looks good with the cooler colors, cream is great with warm colors, but the gray works well with both. But I also love the grays and have a few bolts of gray in my stash!!
I'll put my two cents worth in for what it's worth - which isn't much. When I first saw the London tea towel quilt, I thought red for a binding and that just might be too much for it. You do already have the tonals for a binding. Now that I look more closely, I think I see a red border. You know, it's your quilt - do what you like. I don't think you can go wront.
As far as the background fabric, I'm a sucker for sateen every time if at all applicable (not for applique - LOL). I'm also in love with Kona solids so the silvery gray is a winner, too.
As I told you my opinion stinks. Today is no exception. I had surgery this morning. I was told to be at the surgery outpatient center at 5:30 AM and it wasn't open until 6AM. My friend and I could each have slept another 1/2 hour. I didn't go to sleep until 2:30 so I was exhausted when my alarm beeped. I was to have a kidney stone removed. Yep, you guessed it. It's the second time that I had a large kidney stone that I had been told there was a near 0% chance that I could pass it on my own and when the urologist went in to do surgery, he could not find it. He did find an abnormality in one of ureters. I just need follow up in the office in 6 months. So, all was good. I went to eat breakfast and then slept until 1PM. Now I have a sore throat and just in the recliner. I'm still groggy thus part of the no committment opinion. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices and my opinions are based on my personal bias. My idea of red was the only one that just jumped and I still might still stick with it if you have enough of the right fabric.
Pray that you are feeling better. I'm very sorry about the way you were treated by Craftsy and especially in such a short amount of timme. From some of the patterns that I have seen that are staying, there is no rhyme or reason to their staying. It appears to me IMHO that someone who absolutely nothing about quilting through all the patterns in a random generator and let her rip at best. You are blessed to be a child of God and know that good will come to you from this.
I heard a retired cop on Huckabee on TBN the other night:
The cop pulled a guy over for speeding one night. The guy was very, very irate and was not going to take the ticket graciously. He told the cop that he was going to bang his head on the window and tell the judge that the cop had assaulted him. The quick thinking cop turned on his camcorder. The guy started beating his head against the window of the cruiser. The cop, of course, was recording the entire event. The guy was really doing a good job of beating up his face and there was quite a bit of blood. The guy turned to the cop and said,"What do you think of that?" Feeling quite smug, the cop replied, "I've seen better." The guy feeling downhearted, continued to beat his head and face against the window some more. Eventually, the cop took the fellow to night court. On the way to night court, the cop rewound the recorder to the beginning of the tape. When they got before the judge, the cop presented all of the evidence to the judge. The fellow knew that he was in trouble for he had done all the physical damage to himself and he was totally guilty for everything. The man was taken to jail and the cop returned to duty. Being a Christian, the cop started to feel badly about what he had done. The cop began to pray. He prayed to God, saying that he knew that the Bible says that vengenance is the Lord's. The the cop said, "Lord, I thank you for using me as a instrument in your work to do venengance. Let's go get them all!"
I wish I knew the name of the retired cop so that I could give him proper credit and I hope I gave you a smile. Take care and I hope you feel better and better.
